The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors tipped off their final season of KCAA basketball on Monday with a 64-12 road win over Grace Christian Academy.

Last season’s KCAA state runners-up, the Warriors got all the offense they would need in the first quarter on Monday, outscoring Grace Christian 23-2 behind nine points from Jason Leek and eight for Carlos Robles.

It was more of the same in the second quarter, with Robles and Leek combining for 11 of the Warriors’ 22 points to lead 45-6 at the halftime break.

HCA spread the scoring around and cruised in the second half, putting up 19 points after the break. Twelve Warriors got in the scorebook, led by Robles with 16 and Leek with 14. Landen Wells scored seven points, and Landon Porter and Camden Higgins added six each.

The Warriors will start their KHSAA slate on November 29, when they host Madisonville-North Hopkins. The Maroons took last season’s meeting 96-43 in HCA’s inaugural KHSAA game.
