Two Fort Campbell Lady Falcons have earned Area 1 honors following standout seasons on the cross country course.
Meg Lubas was named to the All-State Team by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association. She was also named to the Area 1 First Team, which involves all three classes, and the Class 1A All Area Team.
Lubas, an eighth grader, was also named the Area 1 middle school runner of the year.
She finished in the top 10 in every race she entered. She had nine top-five finishes, including a second-place run at the Class 1A Region Meet. She followed that up with a fifth-place run at the state meet, becoming the first Lady Falcon in nearly two decades, to record a top-five finish.
Scarlett Boersma, a seventh grader, was named to the Area 1 Second Team and the Class 1A All-Area Team.
Boersma had a breakthrough season for the Lady Falcons. She had six finishes inside the top 10 highlighted with a fourth-place finish at the region meet. In her first state meet, she finished in 37th place.
