HCA Gets Bench Boost in Win Over Foundation Christian

Carlos Robles is going to do Carlos Robles things for Heritage Christian Academy on the basketball court. The senior had another huge night for the Warriors in Tuesday’s 62-46 win at Foundation Christian Academy in Bowling Green.

The senior guard, who became the school’s all-time leading scorer last week, had 28 points and 20 rebounds with four steals thrown in for good measure.

However, the story of the game may have been the play of sophomore Rob Phillips who chipped in with a career-high 19 points. For HCA coach Matt McGowan, Phillips’ surge in the scoring column comes at a good time as the Warriors prepare for the upcoming KCAA super regional championship.

Robles and Jason Leek have been shouldering much of the scoring load this season. Another boost will help the Warriors as they compete in the school’s final KCAA postseason.

Leek had 11 points and five assists against Foundation as the Warriors improved to 17-15 overall and 6-12 against KHSAA competition.
