Christian County had three individual top-10 finishes and three more in the relays to help the Lady Colonels finish in 17th place Saturday at the Invitational of the South Track and Field Meet at Marshall County.
SPRINTS
Jayda Johnson finished in 14th place in the 200-meter dash in 29.10 seconds.
Kaidence Atwell came in 19th place in the 200 meters in 29.70.
MIDDLE DISTANCE
Senior Katieann Thompson had a solid day for the Lady Colonels. She placed fifth in the 400 meters (1:04.60).
Symeria Brown came in ninth place in the 400 meters in 1:07.12.
In the 800-meter run, Debony Anderson made two trips around the track in 2:59.17 to finish in 24th place. Maeby Irving was 37th in 3:16.60.
Julia Munoz turned a 58.38 second time in the 300-meter hurdles which was good for 11th place.
FIELD EVENTS
Munoz also had a 10th place in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 3 inches.
RELAYS
The 1600-meter relay team had the best finish of the day, placing fourth in 4:34.34. The freshmen 1600-meter relay team was fifth in 5:18.19.
Christian County’s 800-meter relay team was ninth in 1:59.86. The 3200-meter relay team was 12th at 13:02.25. The 400-meter relay team was 14th in 56.53 seconds.
TEAM FINISH
The Lady Colonels finished in 17th place out of the 28 girls’ teams with 13 points. Calloway County won the team title with 142 points, easily outdistancing second-place Marshall County (85).
