OK, it is official now. Christian County 8th grader Eddie Davis is in a bit of a groove. And maybe, just maybe, he should pitch every time the Colonels face a bunch of Mustangs. In his last start against McCracken County, the youngster picked up a complete game win, allowing those Mustangs just two runs. He one-upped that Tuesday evening.

Davis pitched a complete game shutout against the Mustangs from Muhlenberg County as the Colonels took a 5-0 win at Colonel Field. Over seven innings of work, Davis allowed seven hits, striking out three and walking three.

The Colonels effectively settled the issue in the bottom of the first inning. Gage Montes drove in Elijah Underhill on a sac fly to score the first run of the game. Christian County added two more runs on a couple of Muhlenberg County errors later in the inning to make it a 3-0 lead.

Christian County bats were held silent until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Colonels added a pair of insurance runs. Blake Boehman drove in both runs with an RBI single to extend the lead to 5-0.

For the game, the Colonels outhit the Mustangs 8 to 7.

Carter Sholar led Christian County going 2-3 with a double and a run scored. Blake Boehman ended up 2-2 with two RBIs. Elijah Underhill, Gage Montes, Preston Phan, and Brylle Javier also had hits for the Colonels.

Christian County improves to 13-10 with the win. The Colonels will go on the road Friday to take on Paducah Tilghman.
