
The big bats for the Christian County Lady Colonels were on display again Tuesday on their senior night as three balls left the yard in a 16-1 win over Lyon County.
Karlee Crick, one of two seniors honored before the game, smacked a two-run homer in the first inning to get the Lady Colonels off and running.
Jada Turner’s first career homer – also a two-run shot – in the second inning put the Lady Colonels up 4-1.
An 11-run third inning saw Christian County send 17 batters to the plate. Avery Adcock continued her torrid month at the plate with a grand slam – her 11th homer of the season. She added two doubles and three runs scored and upped her season average to .541.
Crick and Haley Petterson each had two hits and two RBI with Saniya Shields adding two hits as part of the 13-hit Lady Colonel attack.
Lyon County scored its run in the second inning when Emma Brasher singled to right to score courtesy runner Audrey Akridge.
Jordan Turner improved to 8-3 in the circle, limiting Lyon County to two hits and one walk. She struck out four.
Christian County has won 15 of 16 games from the Lady Lyons with its seventh game of the season with 10 or more runs.
The Lady Colonels (14-9) hit the road Thursday to play Todd County Central in Elkton for the first time in 24 years.
Lyon County (6-13) travels to Trigg County Thursday for a district contest as they look to improve its seeding for the postseason tournament.
