Relay Teams Lead Colonels at Apollo Invitational

A first and a second place in the short-distance relays were the top finishes of the day for the Christian County Colonels Saturday at the Apollo Invitational. The Colonels finished the meet with 38 points, putting them in 8th place for the day.

McCracken County took first place with 104 points, while Warren East finished in second place with 93 points.

The Christian County 4×200 relay team claimed first place in the event with a time of 1:32.88. Owensboro was a close second at 1:32.96.

Top 10 finishes for the Colonels were:

Trey Blanton – 3rd place – 100 meters
Trey Blanton – 3rd place – 200 meters

Jayvion Hawkins – 9th place – 100 meters
Jayvion Hawkins – 8th place – 200 meters

Michael Webb – 7th place – 1 mile

Christopher McCarley – 8th place – Shot put

Boys 4×100 relay team – 2nd place – (Bailey/Brown/Matlock Williams)
Boys 4×200 relay team – 1st place – (Bailey/Matlock/Dove/Brown)
Boys 4×800 relay team – 5th place – (Webb/Munoz/Hale/Fleming)
