
Livingston Central’s Talon Sanchez will be heading to the state track and field meet after a second-place finish Thursday at the Region 1 Meet in Mayfield.
The top two finishers at the region automatically advance to the state meet, while the next ten best times/distances statewide also advance.
HURDLES
Talon Sanchez finished second in the 110-meter hurdles and qualified for the state meet with a time of 16.81 seconds.
SPRINTS
Talon Sanchez was 10th in the 100-meter dash (12.01) and Jorden Schrump was 17th (12.97). Sanchez also finished ninth in the 200 meters (24.60).
Demetriusz Taraskiewicz was ninth in the 400 meters (57.16).
Carter Belcher was 16th in the 200 meters (28.95).
MIDDLE DISTANCE
Alex Parks was ninth in the 3200-meter run (12:17.62).
Phillip Wilson was 11th in the 800 meters (2:30.41) and Ethan Garner was 14th (2:34.13). Wilson was also eighth in the 1600 meters (5:31.78) and 12th in the 3200 meters (12:50.40).
Carson Taliaferro was 10th in the 1600 meters (5:40.54).
RELAYS
The 400-meter relay team finished in fourth place (51.48).
The 3200-meter relay team was fifth (10:46.34).
The 1600-meter relay team was sixth (4:13.08).
The 800-meter relay team was eighth (1:52.29).
FIELD EVENTS
Brady Stone was eighth in the shot put (37-00) while Tyler Crawford was 12th (34-06).
Alex Parks was ninth in the long jump (13-09), and Carson Taliaferro was 10th (12-01). Parks was also 10th in the triple jump (29-05.25).
As a team, Livingston Central scored 15 points to place ninth.
GIRLS
Savannah Hunter finished 10th in the 200-meter dash (32.76), 11th in the 400-meter dash (1:14.50), and 13th in the 100-meter dash (15.22).
Bella Freeman was 15th in the 200-meter dash (35.02) and 17th in the 100 meters (16.00).
In the field events, Kaylor Goodaker was 17th in the discus throw (47-10).
