The fall sports season for the 2023-2024 school year for the Hopkinsville Tigers officially got underway Friday with the first golf invitational of the season. The Tigers traveled to Ben Hawes State Park to compete in the Daviess County Invitational.
The Tigers had a consistent team performance on the day with four players shooting rounds between 80 and 88. The Tigers finished the event with a team score of 336 putting them in 9th place, one shot behind host Daviess County.
Bowling Green ran away with the team title winning by 13 strokes. The Purples had a team score of 296. Marshall County was second with a 309. Madisonvillle-North Hopkins claimed third place, just one shot behind Marshall County with a 310.
Joey Falco had the top performance of the day for Hopkinsville Falco finished with a round of 80. That score placed him 30th among individual competitors. His teammate Andrew Riggs was one shot behind him with an 81.
Bowling Green’s Reed Richey took medalist honors with a sizzling round of 64. Grant Broughton, of Daviess County, was second with a round of 69.
