
Michael Webb opened the 2023 cross country season with a fifth-place finish for the Christian County Colonels Saturday at the team’s cross country season opener.
The Colonel junior covered the rolling 3.1-mile course that stretches over the campuses of Christian County High School and Hopkinsville Community College in a time of 18:11. He was 56 seconds behind the winner Brice Nelson of Webster County.
Wyatt Fleming finished in 16th place with a time of 19:04. Eighth grader Cayden Cline brought home a 28th place finish, just missing eclipsing the 20 minutes mark. His time was 20:06.
Aiden Knepper finished in 47th place in 21:04, five seconds ahead of teammate Joseph Parker. Hector Munoz was 51st and Rex Taggart was 58th.
Nolan Long rounded out the scoring for Christian County with a 71st-place finish at 22:56.
As a team, Christian County finished fourth out of 15 schools. The Colonels totaled 122 points, which was 18 points behind third-place Fort Campbell and seven points ahead of fifth-place McCracken County.
Webster County won the team title with 54 points.
