Hopkinsville Blanks Christian County to Set Up District Showdown with UHA

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers picked up their fourth straight win of the season and third straight win in their series with the Christian County Lady Colonels Tuesday night. Led by a strong defensive effort, the Lady Tigers came away with a 2-0 win over the Lady Colonels at the Stadium of Champions.

Mckenzie Hyams and Kaylyn Burgess Lynch had the goals for Hopkinsville. Hyams assisted on Lynch’s goal, while Rebecca Wood provided the assist on Hyams’ score.

The Lady Tigers controlled the flow of play for most of the match, outshooting the Lady Colonels 21-5.

Another big night for DeAijah Tullis in goal as she came up with five saves and the shutout.

Christian County keeper Jayda Turner ended the night with 15 saves.

Hopkinsville moves to 7-3-2 for the season. The Lady Tigers are set to host University Heights Saturday morning. Top seed in the district tournament will be on the line when the Lady Tigers and Lady Blazers square off.

Christian County drops to 4-7. The Lady Colonels get back to action Thursday evening when they host Apollo.
