
The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors said hello to full-fledged KHSAA membership with a big homecourt win Tuesday night. The Warriors got 23 points from Jason Leek as they rolled past Clarksville Christian 65-40.
HCA’s defense held Clarksville Christian to just seven first-quarter points as the Warriors ran out to a 17-7 lead.
Heritage was able to extend the lead in the second quarter with a balanced effort. The Warriors headed off to the break leading 33-18.
Coming out of the break, Jason Leek and Layton Giltner got it cranked up. The duo combined for 19 points in the third as the Warriors ran the lead out to 56-33 heading into the final quarter.
The Warrior defense then closed out strong by holding Clarksville Christian to just seven points in the final quarter as HCA claimed the 25-point win.
Jason Leek finished the night with 23 points for HCA. Layton Giltner added 16. Landen Wells just missed a double-digit night with 9 points.
Clarksville Christian was paced by Brody Cardwell with 11 points.
Heritage Christian (1-0) is back in action Thursday when they host Union County.
