It was a pretty good way Saturday to celebrate a special day for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. On the day that they honored their three senior players, the Lady Rebels picked up a pair of wins to end their three-game losing streak.

The Lady Rebels took care of Hopkins County Central 4-2 in the opener and then, after the Glasgow Lady Scotties had just run through the Lady Storm 16-3, the Lady Rebels took care of the Lady Scotties 10-0 in five innings.

Against Hopkins Central, the Lady Rebels scored runs in three straight innings to take a 4-1 lead on their way to the two-run win. Todd Central got on the board in the second when Rylann Griggs singled to drive in Jocelyn Mock.

After Hopkins Central tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third, Todd County Central took the lead back in the bottom half of the inning on a single from Naomi Welborn that scored Naomi Gammon to make it 2-1.

Gammon connected for an RBI single in the fourth, followed by an RBI triple from Abby Williams to extend the lead to 4-1.

The Lady Storm plated a run in the 5th but that would be as far as they could get on any comeback path.

Naomi Gammon led the Lady Rebels offense going 3-4 at the plate with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Abby Williams was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI.

The Lady Rebels finished the game with 9 hits to Hopkins Central’s four.

Addison Woodall went the distance in the circle, giving up two runs, one of them earned, on four hits, striking out 6 and walking two.

After the Senior Day ceremony, the Lady Rebels finished the day out quickly, scoring in four of their five at-bats as they took the five-inning 10-0 win.

A Glasgow error allowed Todd Central to score in the bottom of the first and take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Rebels blew the game open with five runs in the bottom of the third. They scored on a bases-loaded walk, a Glasgow error, a wild pitch, a sac fly, and an RBI single from Jocelyn Mock.

The Lady Rebels added two runs in the fourth to make it 8-0 and then Abby Williams sent everyone home early and happy with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth to close out the game at 10-0.

Williams finished 2-4 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. Jocelyn Mock was 2-3 with two RBIs. Naomi Gammon was 0-2 but scored four of the Lady Rebels’ 10 runs.

Mock pitched all five innings for Todd Central, giving up no runs on just two hits, striking out two and walking none.

With the two wins, the Lady Rebels now improve to 10-12 on the season.
