It is not the typical season for a high school freshman. Todd County Central’s Naomi Welborn is leading the Lady Rebel softball team in several categories and figures to be a centerpiece for the team for the next few years.
Through Saturday, Welborn is tops on the team in at-bats, hits, RBIs, triples, home runs, and batting average. You figure she would lead the team in runs scored as well, if she just got the chance. As the team’s starting catcher, once Naomi reaches base, she usually sees a courtesy runner.
