Henderson Rallies to Walk-Off 4-3 Win Over Hoppers

Back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the 9th inning capped off a rally from three runs down and allowed the Henderson Flash to walk off a 4-3 home-field win over the Hoptown Hoppers Sunday night in Henderson. The loss was the fourth in the last five games for the Hoppers.

Henderson pitching limited the Hoppers to just three hits on the night. The Hoppers also had their issues in the field, being charged with four errors in the contest.

The Hoppers took the lead with three runs in the top of the third inning. A Henderson error followed by a single from Sam Perkins set the stage for an RBI single from John Keibler that put Hoptown up 1-0.

Perkins scored on a wild pitch and then Kiebler scored on a ground out to run the lead out to 3-0.

Henderson scored twice in the bottom of the 5th inning to cut the lead to 3-2. Logan Lacey then tied the game in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single.

Taylor Head opened the bottom of the ninth with a double. The Flash then walked off the win with a double from Brock Lummus.

John Kiebler was 1-2 on the night with an RBI and a run scored. Esteban Sepulveda and Sam Perkins had the only other hits for Hoptown.

Jordan Gonzalez got a no-decision in the start for the Hoppers. He went 4 2/3 innings, giving up two runs, one of them earned, on two hits, striking out three and walking three.

Harrison Waxley, who pitched the ninth, was tagged with the loss.
