Irony was on full display Saturday as Heritage Christian Academy played without its foundation and fell to Foundation Christian Academy at the Toyota of Hopkinsville Holiday Hoops Classic.

Senior guard Jason Leek, who came into the game averaging just under 30 points a game, missed the contest to take the ACT. Foundation took full advantage to get the 67-22 win at Hopkinsville’s Tiger Gym.

Foundation Christian, the Bowling Green private school in its fifth year, jumped out to a 12-0 lead before Jacob Morgan drained a 3-pointer to get the Warriors on the board.

Lohden scored 12 of his game-high 22 points in the first quarter as the Falcons built a 26-3 lead.

With Leek not present to run the offense, the Warriors struggled to get good looks at the basket. HCA had 28 turnovers and attempted just 22 shots, making six.

Cadyn Travis led the Warriors with seven points, while Sam Thompson scored four points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The win was Foundation Christian’s first over HCA in seven meetings.

HCA returns to the court Monday at Union County.
