Adaline Chalfin has loved dancing since she was two years old. Now, the Trigg County High School senior will take that love with her to Campbellsville University where she will be a part of the school’s dance team.
The daughter of Brad and Leah Chalfin, Addie signed her letter to attend Campbellsville Thursday morning at Wildcat Gym.
She has been a member of the Bluegrass Dance Academy for most of her life and has performed at regional competitions and recitals that she feels have prepared her for the next step in college.
Addie said the dance team was just one of the things that attracted her to Campbellsville University.
“I think it’s really important for me to be surrounded by like-minded people and to really grow in my faith at the university,” she said. “The people there are so welcoming, and I just really felt at home there.”
In addition to family and friends, Campbellsville dance coach Laura Day made the trip to Cadiz to watch her latest dancer sign with CU.
“I’m so excited to have Addie on our team next year. She is so sweet, and she is such a talented dancer. We got to do an individual tryout with her, and it was so much fun,” Campbellsville dance coach Laura Day said. “She was so teachable. I’m just so excited for how she is going into next season and who she is”
Day also complimented Addie’s family.
“You guys have done so much work to make Addie who she is and thank you just for allowing us to have her for the next four years. I will do absolutely everything in my power to take care of her and protect her and guide her.”
Addie is very active at TCHS and is the current Miss Trigg County. She says she plans to study nursing at Campbellsville.
