Trigg County 8th grader Cooper Adams lost one middle school wrestling match all season but importantly, it wasn’t his last one.
Adams won an 8-6 decision over Bentley Desoto of Tornado Wrestling to claim the 122-pond title at the Kentucky Folk Wrestling Committee State Middle School Championship on Saturday.
Adams finished his season with a record of 24-1 and now turns his attention to the high school region tournament in three weeks. He is ranked 22nd statewide in the 120-pound class by Kentuckywrestling.com.
Trigg’s Eli Campbell placed third in the 122-pound class on Saturday helping Trigg County to a 28th place team finish.
Adams talked about his weekend in this YSE interview.
