Logan County Roars Past Fort Campbell

The Logan County Cougars delivered an early knockout blow to the Fort Campbell Falcons Monday night. The Cougar defense held the Falcons to just five points in the opening quarter while the Cougar offense lit the scoreboard up for 36 points in the second quarter on the way to a 76-32 win in Russellville.

A strong first quarter from Samson Hightower helped Logan County take a 16-5 lead after the opening quarter. Hightower outscored Fort Campbell on his own with 6 points in the first.

The Logan County offense then exploded in the second quarter, blowing the lead out to 52-13 at the half. Nick Thomas put up 11 for Logan County.

With the running clock in play to start the second half, the rest of the game went by quickly. Logan County held a 64-26 lead after the third quarter.

Logan County reserves saw all of the action in the 4th quarter as the Cougars went on to take the 44-point win.

Tyreek Anthony was the only Falcon to reach double figures with 17 points. Israel Dillard ended up with 8 points.

Fifteen different players scored for Logan County led by Samson Hightower with 13 points. Nick Thomas added 11, all of them in the second quarter.

Fort Campbell (3-23) is scheduled to go to Bowling Green Tuesday to take on Foundation Christian Academy.
