The Hoptown Hoppers took on the Henderson Flash on Thursday evening, but they caught them on a day when their pitching was white hot.

Drew Isenberg started on the mound for the Flash, and he was able to get three strikeouts and allow just two hits and no runs in five innings of work. He was the key in his team being able to grab a 7-2 win over Hoptown.

Aidon Butts made the start for the Hoppers and pitched three innings, but he allowed six hits and four runs.

The team’s first run came from a groundout from Owen Hutchison in the top of the sixth that scored Cole Reynolds, who had doubled earlier in the inning. The second came from a single from Carson Tucker in the top of the ninth that scored Hutcheson, who had also gotten on base with a single.

Hoptown’s other hits came from Chance Sweeney and JJ Thompson, the latter of whom also recorded a steal.

The Hoppers will be looking to get back in the win column in their next game on Friday, June 13, against the Madisonville Miners. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Madisonville City Park.
