dsc07183-2

The Hoptown Hoppers were looking for back-to-back wins in their game on Monday evening against the Fulton Railroaders, but they were not able to start a win streak.

Grant Baskin started for the Railroaders and pitched four innings. He allowed just three hits and two runs, and was a huge part of why Fulton was able to get the win 6-2.

As for the Hoppers, Heath Henley was on the mound and had a very solid outing. Despite giving up six walks, he only allowed one hit and one run on his way to recording five strikeouts.

Hoptown’s runs came in the early stages of the game, with the first coming in the bottom of the second inning from Aidon Butts reaching on an error that scored Myles Denton from third. The second run came not long after from a sacrifice fly from Denton that scored JJ Thompson in the third.

The team’s hits on the game came from Thompson, Dalyn Hamilton, Denton, Chance Sweeney, and Evan Cardwell, with Denton’s being a double.

The Hoppers will be hoping that they can get back on track in their next game on Tuesday, June 24, against the Madisonville Miners. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Madisonville City Park.
