A quick start and a strong defensive effort led the Heritage Christian Academy Warriors to their first win of the season Friday night. HCA had three players reach double figures as the Warriors rolled to a 67-34 road win at Cloverport.
This one essentially ended early as Heritage came running out of the gate and took a 23-5 lead after the opening quarter. Noah Arvin had a hot start for the Warriors, scoring 9 points in the first eight minutes of the game.
Heritage and Cloverport played fairly even in the second quarter as the Warriors took a 37-22 lead into the break.
The Warriors cranked up their defense to put the game away in the third. HCA allowed just two field goals in the third as the Warriors blew the lead out to 57-26.
Heritage then rode it out to the final 33-point margin.
Aaron Hensley led Heritage Christian (1-7) with 19 points. Noah Arvin ended up with 17 points. Jacob Morgan also reached double figures with 10 points.
Waydon Poole was the Aces leading scorer with 9 points.
Heritage Christian is set to be back in action Monday night when the Warriors host Christian Fellowship.
