A historic night for Elijah Grigg and the Christian Fellowship Eagles as they visited Heritage Christian Academy Monday night. Grigg became Christian Fellowship’s all-time leading scorer as the Eagles handed the Warriors a 79-41 homecourt loss.

Early in the third quarter, Grigg scored his 16th point of the night, at that point giving him 2,664 for his career and placing him ahead of former CFS star Chris Johnson.

The Eagles opened fast Monday night and jumped out to a 20-6 lead after the opening quarter.

After the lead grew to 19 points at 28-9 early in the second, the Warriors made a bid to get back in the game. A 12-3 run brought HCA to within 31-21 and gave the Warriors a nice dose of momentum. But the momentum was short-lived.

Christian Fellowship ended the first half on a 10-0 run, taking a 41-21 halftime lead and effectively ending the game.

The Eagles hit the Warriors with a 12-0 run midway through the third quarter and move the lead out to 69-27. The quarter ended with CFS up 71-29.

With the game in running clock mode, the final quarter passed quickly as the Eagles took the 38-point win.

Aaron Hensley led the Warriors with 10 points. Cameron Oesch added 8 points and 6 rebounds. Cadyn Travis finished the night with 7 points.

Elijah Grigg ended up with 24 points to lead CFS. Daxton Kite added 22 points. Samuel Grigg added 14 points for the Eagles.

Heritage Christian (1-8) will get back to the court on December 29 when they take on John Hardin in the Roy’s Bar-B-Que/First Southern Bank Classic at Russellville.
