Heritage Christian Academy had just one win so far this season going into their Thursday evening matchup with Crittenden County. Unfortunately for the Warriors that win total stayed the same, as the Rockets were able to get the win 73-67
The first quarter was very back and forth between the two teams, but saw Crittenden taking the lead 15-13 after the first eight minutes.
That lead stayed almost exactly the same for the second quarter as well, and the quarter ended with the Rockets being up just three points going into the locker room at the half.
The Warriors were able to cut the lead to just one after the halftime break, but a 7-0 run by Crittenden shut that down. That run also got all the way to 11-1, meaning the lead got to 10 very quickly.
By the end of the third quarter, Heritage Christian found themselves down by 11.
HCA cut the lead to four in the fourth and final quarter, but that was the lowest it got, and the Rockets got the win by six points.
This was the second win that Crittenden has gotten in the past 60 games, with both of them coming in the last 10.
Both of those wins are also against the Warriors, as they beat them back on January 6 when they played at Crittenden County.
Despite the loss, HCA had some pretty solid performances. Aaron Hensley led the team in points with 20, while Noah Arvin finished with 19. Nathan Wheatcraft and Jacob Morgan were also able to get into double-digits with 10 points apiece.
Heritage Christian is still in search of their second win, and their next chance to get it will be on Friday, February 6, against Cloverport. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Heritage Christian Academy.
