A big start and a big night from big man Noah Arvin was just the right combination on Senior Night for the Heritage Christian Academy Warriors. HCA got 25 points from their junior center and rolled to a 71-27 win over Cloverport Friday night.
This one was essentially over before the last bite of hot dog from between games of the doubleheader was gone. With Arvin controlling the game inside, Heritage scored the last 13 points of the first quarter to turn a 4-2 lead into a 17-2 margin after the first eight minutes.
Arvin was a force down in the lane on both ends of the court, but especially on the offensive end as he scored 11 points in the quarter.
The Warriors scored the first two points of the second to complete a 15-0 run and make it 19-2. Aaron Hensley gave Heritage some big minutes in the second, scoring 7 points in the quarter as HCA took a 32-13 lead into the break.

Heritage Christian then lowered the boom for good early in the third quarter. With the score at 33-17, the Warriors, sparked by Nathan Wheatcroft, ran off 11 straight points to make it 44-17 and it was game, set, and match. HCA led 57-25 going into the final quarter.
The Warriors scored two quick baskets in the fourth quarter to get the lead to 61-25 and get the running clock into play. From there it was only a matter of the final score.
In addition to Arvin’s 25 points, Aaron Hensley added 14 and Nathan Wheatcroft 13 for Heritage Christian.
Cloverport, who was missing three players in the contest, was led by Hunter Bradley with 10 points and Mason Shouse with 7.
Heritage Christian improves to 2-20 and goes on the road Saturday to take on Trigg County.
