
The Dawson Springs boys track and field team turned in several top finishes Tuesday at the McCracken County Quad Meet, while the Lady Panthers were led by two school-record times by Olivia Hines.
Girls
The Lady Panthers were paced by Olivia Hines, who picked up Dawson Springs’ top girls finish of the day by winning the 400-meter dash in school record time of 1:03.89. Hines also added a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 28.18, another school record, and came in seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.87.
In the field events, Carson Clark led Dawson Springs in the discus with a throw of 57-9 to place 10th. Emilie Turner followed in 13th at 40-3, Emberly Plunkett was 14th at 39-5, and Kayla Anderson finished 15th with a throw of 37-0.
In the shot put, Plunkett placed 13th with a throw of 18-10, while Clark was 14th at 18-8.
Kayla Anderson also ran 24th in the 100-meter dash in 17.08 and 24th in the 200-meter dash in 36.49, while Turner finished 26th in the 100 at 17.43 and 26th in the 200 in 37.20.
Boys
Easton Bourland swept both the 800-meter run and 1600-meter run. Bourland won the 800 in 2:02.94 and later set a new school record in the 1600 in 4:30.43.
Levi Holt added another win for Dawson Springs in the 3200-meter run, crossing in 12:46.07. Holt also finished third in the 1600 in 6:04.33 and fourth in the 800 in 2:38.57.
Dawson Springs also got a strong effort in the 800-meter run from Raymond Gibson, who finished third in 2:37.33, while Henry Clark was sixth in 2:43.94.
In the sprint and hurdle events, Chandler Anderson turned in a pair of top performances. He was sixth in the 400-meter dash in 58.74 and took third in the 300-meter hurdles in 48.93. Chase Miles added a 10th-place finish in the 400 in 1:00.60.
The Panthers’ 1600-meter relay team finished second with a time of 4:00.49.
In the jumps, Cooper Burge placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 36-3.
In the throws, Jacob Hines led Dawson Springs with a seventh-place finish in the shot put at 32-3 and was 10th in the discus at 85-8.
In the boys sprint races, Gabriel Gospodarek finished 22nd in the 100-meter dash in 13.45 and 17th in the 200 in 27.61. Logan Chappel was 24th in the 100 in 13.79, 20th in the 200 in 28.62, and 20th in the 400 in 1:05.99. Henry Clark came in 29th in the 100 at 14.22, while Lucas Lowe was 30th in the 100 in 14.25 and 24th in the 200 in 30.12. Ethan Slaton finished 31st in the 100 in 14.50, and Raymond Gibson was 32nd in the 100 in 14.68.
Mayson Howard placed 28th in the 200-meter dash in 35.66 and was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles in 1:09.84.
In the boys field events, Lucas Lowe was 19th in the shot put at 20-11 and 21st in the discus with a throw of 55-9, while Caleb Esposito finished 22nd in the discus at 47-3.
