Going into their road game against Calloway County on Friday, the Caldwell County Lady Tigers had won their last game against the Christian County Lady Colonels. They were unfortunately unable to start a win streak, as the Lady Lakers were able to defend their home field with a 2-0 victory.
Neither team was able to score through the first three innings, but the Lady Lakers then struck first in the bottom of the fourth with a pair of singles to give them a 2-0 lead.
Unfortunately for the Lady Tigers, they were unable to answer back, as Calloway’s Hailee Jones was able to rack up six strikeouts while allowing just three hits. This was the driving force behind the win for the Lady Lakers, which is their third in their last four games.
At the plate for Caldwell County, the team’s three hits came from Alexis Wood, Addison McDaniel, and Evie Freeman.
The Lady Tigers will be hoping to bounce right back and get back into the win column in their next game on Monday, April 13, against the Lady Storm of Hopkins County Central. First pitch of their game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Hopkins County Central High School.
