Before their loss to Livingston Central in the All A Championship in their last game, the Lyon County Lady Lyons had won eight in row. They were able to get back to those winning ways on Saturday with a dominant 15-4 home victory over Webster County.
The Lady Lyons got going early with seven runs in the first inning on four singles and a walk with the bases loaded. Webster County got an RBI single of their own, but Lyon answered back with a trio of doubles from Jaylen Tackett, Ava Prow, and Brooklyn Tackett to make it 10-1.
In case the outcome was ever in doubt, Courtney Collins and Olivia Moore both hit homers to get the Lady Lyons to 15 runs on the game.
Webster County was able to score some more runs of their own to cut the lead down a bit, but it was too little too late, and Lyon got the double-digit victory in five innings.
Brooklynn Tackett got the start for the Lady Lyons, and allowed just two hits in her three innings of work. Savannah Padon also made an appearance on the mound, pitching the last two innings and tallying three strikeouts.
Lyon had five players with a pair of hits, and their RBI leaders were Prow and Moore with three apiece.
This was Lyon’s first game of the day, with their second being against the Lady Raiders of Trinity (Whitesville).
