
Hosts Webster County turned six hits into 15 runs with the help of seven Dawson Springs miscues on the way to a shutout victory on Tuesday.
The Lady Trojans snapped a three-game skid to improve to 8-9 with a trip to Hopkins County Central coming up on Thursday.
Webster County put up four runs in each of the first two frames, and closed the show with six more in the bottom of the 4th. Alyssa Cartwright had two hits for the Lady Trojans, Emma Harmon had a hit and drove in two runs, Raynei Roy had two RBI, and Avery Nall drove in a run with a hit.
Layla Scott earned the win in the circle, scattering four hits with a walk and seven strikeouts.
Audri Scott took the loss for the Lady Panthers, allowing six earned runs on six hits with five walks and three strikeouts. Scott also led the way with two hits, and Briley Sawyer and Miley Lowe each had a hit.
Dawson Springs slipped to 4-6 with its third-straight loss ahead of a visit from Hopkinsville on Thursday. The Lady Panthers earned a 7-6 win over the Lady Tigers earlier this season.
