Blazers Finish 7th at Muhlenberg Invite

The University Heights Academy Blazers came in seventh place at Saturday’s Muhlenberg County Invitational.

Ryan Luckey led the way for the Blazers in the sprint events. The senior placed fifth in the 100 meters in 11.58 and added a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters in 23.51.

Zech Davis placed fifth in the 800 meters in a personal-best 2:14.89.

Jude Finch became the fourth UHA runner in school history to run a sub-five-minute mile. He turned in a personal-best 4:59.82 to finish fifth in the 1600 meters. Finch later added a seventh-place finish in the 3200 meters in 11:41.73.

The 1600-meter relay team of Ronan Croney-Salllie, Zech Davis, Jackson Estes, and Jack Cavanah placed third in 3:46.70, while the 400-meter relay squad of Croney-Salllie, Davis, Luckey, and Estes finished fifth in a season-best 47.42.

In the field events, Ronan Croney-Salllie, an eighth-grader, took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 34 feet, 6.25 inches. He also posted a personal-best 56.85 in the 400 meters, where he finished 10th.

Jackson Estes added a personal-best 24.61 in the 200 meters, while Hayden Hayes, a seventh-grader, posted a personal-best 14.08 in the 100 meters.

Britton Marschand came in 13th place in the 300-meter hurdles in 1:04.48.

Jack Cavanah ran 1:02.63 in the 400 meters to finish in 13th place, and Lucas Stine competed in both the 800 meters (19th place) and 1600 meters (23rd place).

In the throws, Callen Bowe, another eighth-grader, was 15th in the shot put and 16th in the discus throw.

The Blazers totaled 33 points to finish six points behind sixth place Trigg County and 33 points behind fifth place Muhlenberg County.
