University Heights Academy captured a fourth-place finish at Saturday’s Blue and Gold Invitational at Barren County High School.
The Blazers scored 82 points to finish behind South Warren (145), Glasgow (135), and Barren County (125).
The Blazers were paced by their distance runners and relay teams. University Heights won the boys’ 3200-meter relay in 9:10.58. The team was comprised of Zech Davis, Garrett Bowling, Jude Finch, and Graham Conrad.
The 1600-meter relay team of Jackson Estes, Davis, Bowling, and Conrad finished third in 3:58.71.
Conrad added another victory by winning the 1600-meter run in 4:52.73.
Finch finished third in the 1600 at 5:08.11 and later claimed a win in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:41.10.
In the 800-meter run, Davis was runner-up in a season-best 2:09.37, while Conrad doubled back to place fourth in 2:17.71.
In the sprints, Jackson Estes scored in both races, finishing eighth in the 100-meter dash at 12.05 and seventh in the 200-meter dash in 24.93.
Brock Kilijian was 16th in the 100 at 12.71, while Trent Simmons came in 21st at 15.33.
In the 400-meter dash, Jack Cavanah finished fifth in 1:00.74, Jack Conrad was 10th in 1:03.19, and Trent Simmons was 15th in 1:14.84. Cavanah also finished 14th in the 200-meter dash at 27.54.
In the hurdles, Bowling placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles in a season-best 50.82.
In the jumps, Jack Conrad placed sixth in the long jump at 16-3.75 and third in the triple jump with a mark of 32-9.50. Estes was ninth in the long jump at 16-1.
In the throws, Kilijian finished 17th in the discus at 52-1 and 15th in the shot put at 25-3. Simmons placed 18th in the discus at 48-5 and 18th in the shot put at 22-2.
