Lady Lyons End Regular Season with Losses at Tilghman

A tough way to end the regular season Saturday for the Lyon County Lady Lyons. The Lady Lyons made the trip to Paducah and dropped a pair of games to the Lady Blue Tornado.

In the opener, Tilghman scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh and walked off an 8-7 win over the Lady Lyons. Every batter that came to the plate in the final inning for the Lady Blue Tornado reached based, including the walk-off single from Madelyn Boling.

Lyon County did not help its cause any with two errors in the inning. The big shot in the inning was a grand slam from Adrienne Romain that turned a 7-3 deficit into a 7-7 tie, setting the stage for Boling’s game winner.

The Lady Lyons led all the way to the final inning, scoring two runs in the first and two more in the third to go up 4-0. Three runs in the top of the sixth seemingly had Lyon County in a good spot with a 7-1 lead.

For the game, Lyon County was charged with six errors, which allowed Tilghman to score four unearned runs.

Courtney Collins finished 2-5 with a home run, an RBI, and two runs scored. Jaylen Tackett, Ava Prow, and Brooklyn Tackett added two hits each for the Lady Lyons. Prow also had three RBIs.

The second game saw Paducah Tilghman score in every inning but the first on the way to a 15-5 five-inning win over the Lady Lyons.

Lyon County scored two in the top of the second to take a 2-0 lead, but from there it was all Lady Blue Tornado. Tilghman scored four in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth, and then ended the game with six runs in the fifth.

Jaylen Tackett was 2-3 with an RBI. Brooklyn Tackett finished 2-3, with an RBI and a run scored. Five other Lady Lyons had one hit each.
