In a matchup between the top two teams in the boys’ basketball KCAA Power Poll, the top-ranked Heritage Christian Academy Warriors knocked off visiting Legacy Christian Academy 71-55 behind a big night for senior Matt Wills.

Wills poured in 21 points to help the Warriors move to 7-3 overall and remain unbeaten against KCAA competition.

Midway through the 1st quarter the Warriors held a slim one-point edge, but over the next four minutes and change they outscored Legacy 14-1 and led 16-4 after Carlos Robles scored on a layup.

Jeremiah Martin put up 11 points in the 2nd quarter for Legacy, but the Warriors continued to add to the margin and led by 16 after a steal and layup by Wills.  However, Legacy closed the half on a 10-5 spurt to pull to 35-25 at the break.

Wills scored on a pull-up jumper and converted a three-point play on consecutive trips to put HCA up 50-35 late in the 3rd, but Jace Hudson scored the final five points of the quarter to get Legacy back within ten.
