Just six days after the Fort Campbell Falcons picked up their first win of the season on the road at Hopkins Central, the Storm returned the favor. Hopkins Central scored 11 unanswered runs over a four-inning span as they picked up the 11-3 win on post Friday night.
Early on Fort Campbell looked as if they were ready to pick up their second win in their last three games. Aidan Blaszkowski and Tyler Hansen connected on RBI doubles in the bottom of the 2nd to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.
The Storm would come back in the top of the third, taking advantage of two hit batters, a walk, and two Falcon errors to score three runs and take the lead at 3-2.
Hopkins Central’s bats then caught fire in the top of the fifth, ripping off six hits as the Storm plated six runs to move the lead out to 9-2. Sage Hight and Truman Ballard had doubles to ignite the big rally.
Hight would double again in the top of the sixth to help the Storm generate two more runs to extend the lead to 11-2.
Aidan Blaszkowski would triple and then score in the bottom of the 7th for the Falcons, but that would be as far as the threat would go as the Storm picked up the win.
Blaszkowski ended up 2-4 with a double, a triple, an RBI, and a run scored. Tyler Hansen finished 1-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored for the Falcons.
Sage Hight was the story of the night at the plate for the Storm, going 2-4, with a pair of doubles, an RBI, and two runs scored.
Truman Ballard got the win on the hill for Central, going 6 2/3, giving up three runs, two of them earned, striking out 15 while walking 4.
Fort Campbell is back in action Monday when they travel to Trigg County.
