The Caldwell County Tiger soccer team played a solid game in its only preseason scrimmage Thursday night at Butler Stadium in Princeton.
The game was scoreless until late, when Murray’s Kellen Crouch scored off a rebound to give the visiting black-and-gold Tigers a 1-0 victory over the blue-and-gold Tigers.
Crouch’s score came with just 4:15 left in the match.
Murray had the better scoring opportunities in the contest, but Caldwell just missed a pair of chances in the second half, shooting one shot just over the bar midway through the half, then missing a direct kick from just outside the box to the right of the net after falling behind 1-0.
The boys’ scrimmage Thursday brought an end to preseason matches for the Caldwell County soccer teams.
The regular season begins on Monday for the Caldwell soccer squads. The Tigers and Lady Tigers will play a girls and boys varsity doubleheader on Monday at Webster County.
