Lyons to Face Harlan County in KOB Opener

The Lyon County Lyons now know who they will face in the opening round of the 2022 Chad Gardner Law King of the Bluegrass. The tournament is set for December 16 through December 22 at Fairdale High School.

The Lyons are matched up against Harlan County in their opening round game on Saturday, December 17, at 9pm. The Black Bears went 19-11 last season, falling to Bell County 55-54 in the opening round of the 52nd District tournament.

The Lyons would then face either the winner or the loser of a game between host Fairdale and LaRue County in their second game of the event.

Also in Lyon County’s side of the bracket are Spencer County, Great Crossing, George Rogers Clark and Louisville Male.

Last season, the Lyons went 1-2 at the KOB. The Lyons lost to Trinity and Ashland Blazer in close contests while knocking off Belfry 92-79.

The championship game of the event is set for Tuesday, December 20.
