The UHA Lady Blazers used their highest offensive output in nearly four years to take them to their second win in the last three games, as the Lady Blazers picked up a 72-64 road win at Dawson Springs. The 72 points were the most for the Lady Blazers since January 18, 2018, when they put up 76 points in a win over the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Blazers built a double-digit lead and then turned back a late Dawson Springs rally. UHA led 19-11 after the first quarter and then extended that lead to 39-25 at the half.
UHA looked to have things well in hand with the lead at 53-37 going into the final quarter. The final margin would not have been as close if not for some free-throw line struggles for the Lady Blazers. UHA went 1 of 10 at the line in the fourth quarter.
A big night for the Lady Blazers’ Alecia Davis, who finished with 30 points. Kennady Quarles added 16, while Amaryia Bass ended up with 12 points.
Abby Ward was the top scorer for Dawson Springs with 27 points, including six three-pointers. Gracie Harper added 25 points, with five made three-pointers.
UHA improves to 2-7 on the year. The Lady Blazers travel to Logan County on Monday.
Dawson Springs falls to 1-6.
