The Caldwell County tennis teams played at Henderson County on Monday but dropped narrow decisions.
Caldwell’s squads each fell 4-3.
In the girls’ match, the two sides split a pair of doubles contests, but Henderson took three of the five singles matches.
In singles:
Cameron Chandler (HC) defeated Josie Shaffer 8-0;
Rachel McClung (CC) beat Merrich Conkwright 8-0;
Keegan Miller (CC) topped Abby Gibson 8-2;
Addi Kirtley (HC) defeated Meleah Greenfield 8-2;
and Abigail Stone (HC) turned back Ella Johnson 8-3.
In doubles:
McClung/Miller (CC) knocked off Chandler/Conkwright 8-1;
and Gibson/Kirtley (HC) blanked Shaffer/Greenfield 8-0.
In the boys’ match, Henderson claimed four of the five singles matches to beat Caldwell.
In singles:
Ryan Hammett (CC) defeated Mason Bridgeman 8-3;
Jaxton Duncan (HC) edged Grayden Miller 8-6;
Thomas Berger (HC) nipped Nick Adams 8-6;
Carson Weiss (HC) beat Cannon Littlejohn 8-1;
Braydon Dhom (HC) topped Cason Littlejohn 8-3;
In doubles:
Miller/Adams (CC) defeated Thomas Berger/Alton Berger 8-5;
Hammett/Cannon Littlejohn (CC) beat Dhom/Weiss 8-1.
Caldwell’s tennis teams are scheduled to host Lyon County on Tuesday.
