University Heights Academy’s girls are back to their winning ways in the 2nd Region All A Classic.

Audrey Grise scored a pair of goals on Saturday as the Lady Blazers turned back Caldwell County 3-1 in the regional championship match at Crittenden County.

It’s the 14th 2nd Region All A Classic title in the last 15 years for UHA. The Lady Blazers had won 13 straight championships before being defeated 3-1 by Caldwell in the semifinals a year ago.

All of the scoring in Saturday’s final came in the second half.

Grise netted her first goal in the 56th minute with help from Audrey Perry.

But defending champion Caldwell countered in the 61st minute. Aliya Towns finished in front of the net following a corner kick by Keegan Miller to knot things at 1-1.

However, the Lady Tigers (3-2) did not get to celebrate very long.

Less than a minute later, UHA’s Kendall Hancock found the net off an assist from Perry to put the Lady Blazers back up 2-1.

Grise’s second goal came in the 77th minute when she scored off a rebound to give University Heights some breathing room.

UHA held an 18-13 advantage in shots in the contest.

Lady Blazer goalkeeper Madison Williams had seven saves.

Abbey Gill made nine stops in the Caldwell net.

University Heights (4-0) will host 1st Region champion Murray at a date to be determined for a berth as one the final eight teams at the state All A Classic in Louisville Sept. 23-24.
