Christian County junior Avery Adcock has parlayed an outstanding softball season into a college offer to the University of Missouri. On Sunday, she announced she had committed to Mizzou.
The Lady Colonel shortstop was among the region leaders in batting average (.548), home runs (15), and RBI (42). 32 of her 57 hits in 2023 were for extra bases. Adcock also stole 33 bases in 37 attempts.
Her eye at the plate was on point, striking out five times in 125 plate appearances.
As a freshman, Adcock hit .451 with two home runs and 43 RBI. She was a perfect 24-for-24 in stolen bases and had 23 extra-base hits.
She also saw the field as an eighth grader, batting .294 with three extra-base hits and 12 RBI.
Adcock also stays busy with an extensive travel softball schedule that has carried her across the country for various tournaments and championships.
