Trio in the 80’s Leads Tigers at Daviess County Invitational

In arguably the toughest invitational of the early part of the high school golf season so far, the Hopkinsville Tigers got a chance Friday to see the progress they are making as the season gets rolling along. The Tigers, along with 23 other teams, were in Owensboro to take part in the Daviess County Invitational at Ben Hawes State Park.

The Tigers finished their day with a team score of 352.

Owensboro took team honors with a score of 290. Marshall County finished second at 299. McCracken County took 3rd place with a 300.

The top individual performance for Hopkinsville came from Ryan Martin, who completed his round with a score of 83.

Owensboro’s Nolan Warren took medalist honors with a round of 68. Grant Broughton, of Daviess County, and Landon Hunt, of McCracken County, tied at 69 with Broughton winning 2nd place on the tie-breaker.

Individual scores for Hopkinsville were:

Ryan Martin – 83
Wade Foster – 86
Isaiah Wood – 86
Matt Baker – 97
Henry Riggs – 100
