MaKenna Hendricks was poised to follow up a third-place finish at state as a sophomore with state title aspirations as a junior. That was until a knee injury ended her wrestling season. With rehab behind her, Hendricks focused on claiming that elusive state title and accomplished it on Saturday, winning the 185-pound class.
She discussed the journey to the top of the podium and what was on the menu for a victory celebration with no scales in sight.
