
Madisonville-North Hopkins erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the second inning and was off on its way to an 11-2 win over Hopkins County Central in 7th District play on Tuesday.
Ryder Sandidge was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, two runs batted in and three runs scored as the Maroons improved to 9-7 overall and 3-0 in the district.
Blake Prow pitched the first six innings for Madisonville. He struck out nine while allowing just one earned run on eight base hits. He also walked three.
Gauge Clark pitched the seventh inning, walking one and striking out two.
Hopkins Central (7-7, 0-3) scored both of its runs in the third inning.
But the Maroons got those two runs back in the fourth to go up 10-2, then added another run in the sixth.
Aidan Arp went 4-for-4 at the plate for Madisonville, scoring two runs and driving in three. Brennen Cole and Evan Lear each had doubles.
For the Storm Sawyer Allen went 3-for-4. Gaige Brasher and Neilan Bruce each had doubles for Hopkins Central.
Madisonville has taken 15 straight against the Storm.
The two teams will square off again on Thursday, this time in Mortons Gap.
