The Christian County baseball team went on the road to Bowling Green High School on Saturday to play a pair of games. But unfortunately for the Colonels, they lost their first game to Farragut 11-2, and their second to the host team of the Bowling Green Purples 5-1.

Farragut’s pitching had their way with the Colonels in the first game, holding them to just three hits. Those base knocks came from Blake Boehman and Gage Montes, the latter of which had two knocks.

The second game was where Christian County got a bit more offense with six hits. But none of those hits led to the team’s lone run in the game, as that came from Gavin Mitchell grounding into a double play, which scored Chase Fort from third base.

This came just a few days after the Colonels were able to beat the University Heights Blazers to claim the top seed in the district tournament.

Christian County will be looking to get back on the right track in their next game against UHA on Monday, April 20. Their game will begin at 6 p.m. at Christian County High School.
